Saturday night's fight result's from UFC 129 in Toronto,Ontario where over 55,000 people cheered from the stands of the Rogers Center. The night started off great. Ben Henderson dominated the cage to gain a win over Mark Bocek for 30-27 unanimous desicion.
The fight between Matsushenko and Brilz ended as quickly as it started, with Matsushenko getting a stoppage via KO in the first round. Brilz couldn't believe the decision and was confused when he awoke and asked the ref what happened and why did he stop it.
I couldn't believe my eyes after witnessing what happened to him last night. He clearly is done with his UFC career. Hat's off to him thought he put in a good 15 years of excellent fights but it's obvious that he out of his league and can't handle the younger generation. Lyoto Machida pulled off a straight kick to Couture's chin and knocked him out in the second round.
The next bout was between Jose Aldo and Mark Hominick that turned into a battle lasting 5 full rounds with Aldo pulling off a win. Thanks for coming out Hominick and much respect for being a canadian fighter going for the belt but Aldo is much faster and tougher.
The main event between Jake Shields and Georges St.Pierre for the UFC Welterweight Championship belt turned out to be another shot for shot fight like the the St.Pierre and Koshchek. But it looked like St.Pierre although throwing more punches and kicks looked like he could have lost the fight. I was not overly impressed with this fight but believe St.Pierre suffered a cut under the eye which caused him to stay on defence against Shields but still pulled off the win with a unanimous decision.
